Toby has been practicing piano.

He has been writing up the rules to Gate and thinking about conflicts and uncertainties in the game.

He has also been thinking about systems where different coloured pieces on a chess board have different functions – like copy, pull, transmit etc. He is looking at the different behaviours when combining different pieces – whether you can create a factory, an accumulator and so on. Conway’s Game of Life is a definite inspiration for this. I think this could also lead us on to Turing Machines.

We went to meet a home ed friend over the park for a couple of hours.
